Ingredients:

Hamburger Patty Steaks:

Note: Easy Homemade Italian Breadcrumbs

Instructions for Homemade Breadcrumbs:

  1. Bake the bread at 300 degrees for 15 to 20 minutes or until the bread dries, stirring every 5 minutes.
  2. Once ready, place in a food processor with Italian seasoning and parsley and pulse until crumbled.

Gravy Sauce:

Instructions:

  1. In a large bowl, combine all the hamburger patty ingredients except the oil. Mix well to ensure everything is combined. Divide the mixture into 8 equal portions and shape each portion into a patty about 3 inches round.
  2. In a large skillet, heat the oil over medium heat. Add the patties and cook for 3 to 5 minutes on each side, until medium rare (they will continue cooking in the gravy). Remove the patties and set aside.
  3. In the same pan, add butter and flour, stirring until golden brown. Add onion powder and stir for 30 seconds.
  4. Add beef broth, ketchup, and Worcestershire sauce, stirring until well combined. Add onion and mushrooms, cooking for 3 to 5 minutes.
  5. Add the half-and-half and ground black pepper, stirring for a minute, then add the patties back into the pan.
  6. Simmer for 10 to 15 minutes. Sprinkle with Parmesan cheese or fresh/dried parsley as desired.
  7. Serve over egg noodles, mashed potatoes, rice pilaf, or steamed rice.
